A new Carolina Wings & Rib House location is currently under construction in Chapin, according to an August 19, 2026, Facebook post from the chain’s Ballentine restaurant. This development marks the fifth establishment for the Midlands-based chicken wing and rib chain.

The new restaurant will be situated on Columbia Avenue, slightly outside Chapin’s town center. While an exact address is not yet available, the Ballentine location’s manager stated on August 24 that it will be built behind the Little Caesars at 523 Columbia Avenue, positioned between Farm Boy’s Barbeque and Lexington Medical Center Urgent Care.

The goal is to open the new location in early 2027, though a firm estimate is not yet established. The restaurant is being constructed from the ground up, as indicated by a photo shared in the Facebook post.

Carolina Wings & Rib House, which first opened in 1996, is known for its selection of over 20 chicken wing flavors, alongside burgers, salads, sandwiches, and ribs. The brand was founded by the Schoolmeesters, Midlands restaurateurs who also own two Columbia-area George Roberts Wine & Raw Bar locations. The restaurant emphasizes its commitment to providing delicious, made-to-order food, distinguishing itself from fast-food establishments.

This new Chapin location will join existing Carolina Wings & Rib House restaurants in Ballentine, Cayce, Lexington, and Red Bank. The area on Columbia Avenue where the new restaurant is being built experiences traffic of approximately 13,800 cars per day, according to state Department of Transportation data. It will be near Chapin High School, Chophouse of Chapin, a Goodwill, and several fast-food chains.
