CHAPIN, S.C. — Chapin voters will not have to drive far to vote early this fall: Chapin Town Hall becomes one of the Lexington County early voting centers when the period for the statewide general election opens Monday, Oct. 19.

Town hall is at 157 NW Columbia Avenue. Lexington County is running six centers in all, and a registered county voter may use any of them.

The nearest alternative for many Lake Murray-area residents is the Midlands Tech campus on College Street in Irmo. The county elections office on West Main Street in Lexington, the West Columbia Community Center, Gaston Town Hall and the Midlands Tech site in Batesburg round out the list.

Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and the final early voting day is Saturday, Oct. 31. Voters should have a photo ID with them.

Regular precinct voting follows on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
