Pelion Community Events Announced
The town of Pelion is preparing for its annual Trunk-or-Treat event, scheduled for Oct. 31 from 5-9 p.m. The event will take place on the walking trail. Pelion Police Chief Chris Garner has emphasized the importance of safety for participants and suggests parents bring flashlights. Officers will be stationed at the intersection of Lydia Drive and U.S. 178 to help pedestrians cross the highway.
In other local news, the Pelion Planning Committee has approved a 10-year comprehensive plan. This plan addresses various aspects including growth, population, infrastructure, and first responders. The comprehensive plan will now proceed to the mayor and town council for their approval.
The Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission’s Pelion Senior Center is set to participate in the Senior Games during the week of Monday, Oct. 5.
The Lexington County Library’s Pelion Branch has several activities planned. Toddler time will be hosted on Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. The Play-Doh Club, for grades K-5, will meet on Oct. 7 at 3:30 p.m. Additionally, InBeTween, for grades 6-8, will engage in ghostly portraits on Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m. Friends of the Library will hold a meeting on Oct. 10 at 10 a.m., which will also include a grocery gift card raffle drawing.
