CHAPIN, S.C. — Families looking for a hometown Halloween stop can circle Friday, Oct. 23, when Crooked Creek Park stages a trick-or-treat trail and outdoor carnival on the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission calendar.
The night is set for Fri, Oct 23 2026, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. At Crooked Creek Park. The park sits at 1098 Old Lexington Hwy in Chapin and has served Chapin since it opened in 1994 as the district site for this side of Lake Murray.
The trail running 6 to 7:30 p.m. Pairs with the carnival filling the same window through 8:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged, and organizers ask guests to bring a bag for candy. The route follows the walking path and leads out to the soccer fields, with a free hayride offered for the ride back to the parking lot. Check-in is at the trail head near the front of the park.
Everyone who attends must be registered. Tickets cost $5 per person in advance or $7 per person on the day of the event, and children age 1 and under get in free. Advance tickets are meant to be scanned at the gate.
ICRC is running a month of Halloween-season programming from Friday, Oct. 16, through the rest of October at sites across the district. The Oct. 23 Crooked Creek date is the Chapin-park stop on that slate.
