CHAPIN, S.C. — Dogs in Chapin get a Halloween outing of their own this weekend. Crooked Creek Park is holding Howl-O-Ween at the Bark on Saturday, Oct. 24, a free morning event built for pets and the families who walk them.
Starting at 10 a.m. and wrapping up by 11:30, the event takes place at the park, 1098 Old Lexington Hwy. Instead of houses, the route follows the park’s disc golf course, where vendors will be handing out snacks, candy and other goodies along the way.
Owners are urged to put their animals in costume, and there will be spots set up for pictures. Organizers say every kind of companion is welcome, furry or not.
The pet trail caps a busy Halloween stretch at the park. The night before, on Friday, Oct. 23, Crooked Creek opens its candy trail for costumed kids, along with a carnival, at 6 p.m. under the name Halloween at the Park.
Next on the park’s calendar after that is its Holiday Market, set for Saturday morning, Nov. 21, starting at 8:30 a.m.
