Dutch Bros Expands Presence in West Columbia
A new Dutch Bros coffee shop is slated to open at 2239 Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia, South Carolina. The site is owned by West Columbia – Sunset DB LLC, according to Lexington County property tax records.
The location is situated next to the Sunset Court shopping plaza, which houses businesses such as Groucho’s Deli and Mai Thai restaurant. It is approximately one mile east of the Lexington Medical Center campus and Interstate 26. The area along Sunset Boulevard is a high-traffic corridor, with state Department of Transportation statistics indicating nearly 30,000 cars traverse it daily.
An official opening date for the West Columbia Dutch Bros has not yet been publicly announced.
This new location is part of a broader expansion by Dutch Bros, which operates 1,000 locations across the U.S. The company has significantly increased its presence in the Midlands this year. Following its acquisition of Clutch Coffee Co. in January, four new Dutch Bros drive-thrus opened in the Midlands. These included conversions of Clutch Coffee Co. shops at 9349 Two Notch Road and 4716 Devine Street in Columbia, 308 Columbia Avenue in Lexington, and 1511 Lake Murray Boulevard in Irmo.
Additionally, a new Dutch Bros location at 7001 Garners Ferry Road in Columbia, south of the Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center, opened on June 19. In Irmo, a Dutch Bros shop was constructed at 10603 Broad River Road, situated between a Wendy’s and a Biscuitville. The chain also has plans for a Lexington location at 5211 Sunset Boulevard, adjacent to the Lidl supermarket, and another spot at the upcoming Target-anchored Victory Village shopping center on the Augusta Highway in Lexington.
