CHAPIN, S.C. — The Chapin High volleyball team’s playoff run ended Monday night on the road. The Lady Eagles were swept 3-0 at Woodmont in a Class 5A Upper State match, the second round of that bracket.
Chapin made a push in the opening set, putting together six points in a row, but Woodmont held on to take it 25-20. The hosts were at their sharpest in the middle set, and the Wildcats closed the match with a 25-17 win in the third set.
The loss came after Chapin opened the postseason Oct. 21 by beating J.F. Byrnes 3-1. The Lady Eagles finish the year with a 12-5 record, and the team has no more matches on its schedule this fall.
Woodmont has now won 11 matches in a row. The Wildcats move on to face Mauldin on Wednesday.
