HOLLAND, Mich. — Hope College’s women’s basketball team enters the 2026-27 season among the best in NCAA Division III, landing in the top 10 of both national preseason polls.
The Flying Dutch are No. 4 in the D3hoops.com preseason Top 25. In the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association preseason poll released Oct. 27, Hope sits eighth with 169 points, matching where the coaches had the Flying Dutch at the end of last season.
Denison, the defending national champion, is No. 1 in both. Denison drew nine first-place votes from the coaches and 240 points, with NYU second and Bates third.
Coach Brian Morehouse’s team is coming off the 19th MIAA tournament championship in school history and a trip to the Sweet 16 of the Division III tournament. Hope brings back two players who made the All-MIAA first team and an all-region squad, along with a Second Team All-MIAA pick.
Hope plays its first games at home on Nov. 6 and 7. The Flying Dutch are hosting a four-school event, the Michele Schoon Tournament, in their own DeVos Fieldhouse.
