CHAPIN, S.C. — Chapin High School will host a girls volleyball playoff match on Oct. 21, with the eighth-seeded Eagles taking on ninth-seeded Byrnes to open the Class 5A Upper State bracket.
Whoever wins moves on to face Woodmont, the top seed in that half of the draw, on Oct. 26 on the road.
Woodmont is one of four Upper State teams sitting out the opening round. Dorman, River Bluff and Mauldin also earned first-round byes.
Two other Midlands programs play the same night. Lexington is home against Rock Hill, while White Knoll makes the trip to Eastside.
If Chapin keeps advancing, the Upper State semifinals come next on Oct. 28, with the Upper State final penciled in for Nov. 3. Dreher High School in Columbia will host the girls state title matches on Nov. 5 and Nov. 7.
Chapin High, located at 300 Columbia Ave, Chapin, SC 29036, plays in Class 5A, Region 3 during the league’s 2026-2028 realignment cycle.
